Chocolate Covered Strawberries!

This recipe is super fun, super delicious and super quick!

Chocolate covered strawberries are a classic sweet treat that can be enjoyed year round! And you don’t need much to make them. Odds are you already have all the ingredients in your pantry at home! Though, there are a few tricks to the trade that I’d like to share with you before you begin.
First-
Make sure to pick the best strawberries possible out of your carton. Try to avoid strawberries that have been bruised or are a bit older.
Second-
After rinsing the strawberries, make sure to dry them well before dipping them in the chocolate.
Other than that, you should be good to go ahead and start dipping!

Ingredients-
  • 1 pint strawberries (only the best)
  • 1 bar Ghirardelli baking chocolate (type of your choice)
Recipe-
  • Begin by rinsing the strawberries you’ve selected and setting them aside to drip dry
  • Next, take your baking chocolate and using your hands break the bar up into smaller pieces
  • Place the broken pieces of chocolate in a microwave safe bowl and heat for 1 minute, making sure to stop at 30 sec and mix the chocolate until smooth (if needed, add additional time)
  • Hand dry each strawberry with a paper towel, checking to make sure that they are dry
  • Holding the strawberry by it’s stem, roll the berry in the bowl of melted chocolate, making sure to cover it on all sides
  • Place the chocolate covered strawberry on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper
  • Repeat this step for the rest of the strawberries
  • Place the tray of strawberries in the fridge to harden for at least 30 min
  • Enjoy!
Step 2, breaking apart the chocolate
Ingredients after Prep

Remember- the chocolate covered strawberries are best the day you prepare them, but will last appropriately 1-2 days in the fridge. After that, they are no longer any good and should be thrown out!

You can also add additional toppings to your strawberries before they harden. Some examples include sprinkles, chocolate shavings or, in my case, I drizzled a table spoon of peanut butter over the top of a few of my strawberries!

Get creative with it and make the strawberries you want!
